It is with great pride and deep gratitude that I present this year’s Board Chair Report for ‘Til The Cows Come Home. Over the past 12 months, we have continued to make significant strides in our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome farmed animals in need across Australia.
This work is never easy—but thanks to the collective dedication of our team and the incredible support from our community, it has been nothing short of transformative.
At the heart of everything we do is our belief that farmed animals deserve the same compassion, dignity, and opportunity for a full life as any other living being.
This year, we were able to rehome more animals than ever before. Each of these stories represents not just a life saved, but a future rewritten—one filled with love, safety, and respect.
This success was only possible because of the unwavering support from our volunteers, donors, foster carers, and advocates. You are the reason we can do what we do. From those who share our stories, to those who open their homes and hearts to rescued animals, to those who contribute financially—each of you plays an essential role in our impact.
We have also seen strong growth in our operational capacity, with improvements to our systems, outreach, and foster network. We’ve developed new partnerships, increased public awareness around the plight of farmed animals, and remained a steadfast voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.
As we look ahead, we do so with hope and determination.
There is still much work to be done, but with the strength of our community behind us, we are more committed than ever to being a force for change in the lives of farmed animals.
To our staff, volunteers, partners, and every individual who has supported our mission this year—thank you. Your compassion drives our work, and your belief in a better world for all animals fuels our purpose.
With sincere gratitude,
Sharon Grocott

It is my honour to present the CEO’s Report for ‘Til The Cows Come Home for the 2024–2025 financial year—a year defined by both heartwarming milestones and renewed momentum in our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome farmed animals as treasured companions.

This year, we reached a landmark moment—our 10,000th adoption. That milestone belongs to a gentle calf named Teddy, who now stands as a powerful symbol of the compassion and change we strive for.
Teddy’s story is especially poignant. He was rescued alongside two other calves, Albert and Oscar, after being deemed “waste” by the dairy industry—a fate that so many male calves face simply because they cannot contribute to milk production. Without intervention, their lives could have ended cruelly within days or weeks
Instead, thanks to the kindness of our donors and foster carer, Teddy and his companions were brought into short-term foster care, receiving everything needed to thrive—medical care, nourishment, and most importantly, love. Teddy, with his shy nature, bright eyes and love for life, quickly reminded all of us of what is possible when lives are valued rather than discarded
He may see himself as a regular calf—but to us, Teddy is the embodiment of our vision: a future where farmed animals are cherished as companions, not treated as commodities.
Teddy’s adoption reflects not only individual compassion, but also the strength of our entire network—our foster carers who open their homes and hearts, our volunteers and supporters who amplify our mission, and the generous donors whose contributions make these rescues possible.
Over the last twelve months, we have rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed 2,903, each one a life saved, a future transformed.
In addition to growing our rescue capacity, we continued to invest in systems and outreach. This year, we enhanced:
Achieved our 10,000th animal adoption. 2024 was the most successful year for hen rescues despite adoption challenges.
Maintained outstanding community trust with 5-star ratings on Google Reviews and Trustpilot, and 96% on Facebook Reviews.
‘Til The Cows Come Home embarked on one of the most significant changes in our brand identity: a full rebrand in collaboration with U-Bahn design.
Our refreshed identity captures the heart of our mission—transforming the lives of farmed animals and reshaping how the world sees them.
With support from YoungFolks, it has quickly become a central hub for adoptions, support and engagement, now ranking number one on Google for key searches like ‘adopt a farm animal’.
This website transformation was celebrated externally too—our rebrand was shortlisted for a Victorian Premier’s Design Award. Thank you to the amazing team at U-Bahn design for our beautiful new brand.
Consistently strong fundraising results to ensure that we are financially stable and can continue to rescue and rehome animals.
Tried new fundraising activities, including a successful silent auction that raised $2,300.
Growth in micro-donations through recycling schemes such as Return-It and Containers for Change.
Continued success with My Giving Circle during the 2024/2025 year, including a new platform for donations and grants.
None of this work would be possible without you—our donors, foster carers, volunteers, adopters, and advocates. Your belief in the potential for change drives us forward.
To our kind and generous foster carers, thank you for the countless hours of care, worry, midnight feeds, cleaning, glamorous tasks such as checking the consistency of calf poo, and the gentle reassurance you offer frightened souls. You are the lifeblood of ‘Til The Cows.
To our supporters and donors, thank you for transforming intentions into action. Your generosity turned Teddy’s life—and thousands more—from one of disposability to one of respect and love.
As we step into the year ahead, Teddy’s journey guides our path. We will continue to amplify our rescue and rehoming impact, expand our foster network, and advocate for a world where kindness and compassion extend to every being, including farmed animals.
From all of us at ‘Til The Cows—and from Teddy, a quiet reminder of what’s possible withkindness—thank you.

It is my pleasure to present the financial overview for ‘Til The Cows for the 2024–2025 financial year. Our results this year reflect both the generosity of our community and our careful stewardship of resources, ensuring that every dollar is used to maximise our impact for farmed animals in need.
For the year ended 30 June 2025, our total gross income was $1,224,950, with the majority coming from donations. We did not receive any government grants, underscoring our independence and the importance of our donor community.
Our total expenses were $1,161,011, of which $473,108 related to employee expenses and $687,903 to all other operational costs, including animal care, transport, veterinary services and fundraising activities.
This resulted in a net surplus
of $63,939, which will be reinvested to strengthen our rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming programs in the coming year.
At year-end, ‘Til The Cows held total assets of $436,840. This strong position provides stability and ensures we can continue to respond swiftly to animals in urgent need.
We remain committed to operating with transparency, accountability, and efficiency. Every contribution—whether large or small—is treated with care, ensuring it directly supports our mission. We continue to monitor our costs closely, seeking cost-effective solutions without compromising the quality of care we provide to animals.
